ECF participants by age group
ECF participants by age group shows the number of ECF starts in the academic years 21/22 and 22/23, broken down by age group. For each year it shows the percentage of ECF starts that provider led, and the percentage that are school led. The total number of ECTs starting the provider-led induction comprises all ECTs who are confirmed to have started the provider-led induction in the academic year 2021 to 2022, or academic year 2022 to 2023. The percentage of ECTs starting the provider-led and school-led induction is based on ECTs who appeared in the School Workforce Census, either in 2022 or 2021.

In both 21/22 and 22/23, there were more female ECTs than male ECTs. The number of ECTs of unknown gender was higher in 22/23.

The number of ECTs starting the provider-led and school-led ECF-based induction is based on ECTs who are included in the School Workforce Census in 2021/22 and 2022/23. The number of ECTs starting the ECF induction lead was higher in Full time category than Part time in 2021/22 and 2022/23 academic years.

Most of the NPQ participants were White in both 21/22 and 22/23 , however the proportion of Black or Black British participated the NPQ on both academic years were higher than other ethnic group.

This table shows the number and percentage of funded unique NPQ participants by region in 2021/22 and 2022/23.Although the North East had a lowest number of NPQ participants but had the highest percentage of workforce participating NPQ on 2022/23.

Although in both 2021/22 and 2022/23 academic years, the school type with the highest number of funded unique NPQ participants was the Academies, but the Free schools had the highest percentage of school workforce NPQ participating in both academic years.

This table shows the number and percentage of unique funded NPQ participants by phase in 2021/22 and 2022/23. On 2022/23 academic years the phase with the highest percentage and number of unique participants was the primary school.

This table shows the number and percentage of funded unique NPQ participants by working hours in 2021/22 and 2022/23. In both 2021/22 and 2022/23 academic years, the group with highest number and percentage of funded unique NPQ participants were full time workers.

This table shows the number and percentage of funded unique NPQ participants by grade in 2021/22 and 2022/23. Although the classroom teachers had the highest Number of unique funded participants, but the Assistant head teachers had the highest percentage of workforce starting an NPQ on 2022/23.

In both 2021/22 and 2022/23 academic years, there were more female than male NPQ participants. However the percentage of Male teachers on workforce participating NPQ was higher than the Female.

In both 2021/22 and 2022/23 academic years , the age group with the highest number and large percentage of funded unique NPQ participants was the 30-39 age group. For the same period the age group with lowest percentage and lowest number of unique funded NPQ participants was the 60 and over age group.
ECTs starting the ECF-based induction by course type
This table shows the number of funded unique NPQ participants by course type in 2021/22 and 2022/23. The Senior Leadership NPQ type were the most funded NPQ participants on both academic years. The Early Headship Coaching offer were the least NPQ participants for both years.
