The pupil attendance dashboard (opens in new tab) is updated fortnightly. The latest data relates to the week commencing 20 October 2025. The dashboard displays attendance and absence headline figures, and reasons for absence at national, regional and local authority geographic levels. Data is available across state-funded primary, secondary and special schools and can be broken down by individual school type.

Data suppression

Where there is only 1 school in a local authority at daily, weekly, termly or year to date level, the attendance figures are suppressed.

All other figures are unsuppressed.

Rounding

In recognition of the uncertainty around inset days, reporting lag and reduced response rate, rates for week commencing 01 September 2025 have been rounded to 0 decimal places. 

All other figures are unrounded.
