  8. Achievement rates are based on the individual qualification aims that were completed in the relevant year (Hybrid End Year). They are calculated as the number of aims achieved divided by the number started, excluding the aims of any learners that transferred onto another qualification within the same institution.
  9. Level H includes qualifications at Level 4, Level 5, Level 6 or Level 7.
  10. Retention rates are based on the individual aims that were successfully completed in the relevant year (the Hybrid End Year). They are calculated as the number of learning aims completed divided by the number of leavers.

It includes learners who don’t receive the direct funding, yet enrolled and meet the underlying criteria.
  4. The 4,780 adults taking up free courses for jobs in 2020/21 relates to the original list of 387 eligible qualifications and covers the period April 21 to July 21 (when the offer was live). The total for enrolments by eligible adults covers the full academic year (August to July). Comparable enrolments for eligible adults during the April to July free courses for jobs period were 1,960 in 2018/19, 1,170 in 2019/20 and 6,560 in 2020/21.
