  1. Subject vacancies include both standard definition vacancies and temporarily filled posts. They relate to classroom teachers in secondary schools only. Subject vacancy rates are calculated from the number of full-time classroom teachers in post broken down by the proportion of hours taught in each subject from the subject taught information.
