Background information
A summary of air cleaning unit and CO2 monitor deliveries to state-funded education settings, including early years, schools and further education providers up to 24 June 2022. This data covers England only. This transparency release sets out the number of air cleaning units and CO2 monitors delivered by the Department for Education using administrative data from its delivery partners.
Headline facts and figures
As of 24 June, there were 8,026 DfE-funded air cleaning units and 386,699 DfE-funded CO2 monitors delivered to state-funded education settings.
Background
The Government has provided £25 million of funding to provide over 300,000 CO2 monitors to state-funded education settings, including early years, schools and further education providers.
In January, the Government committed to fulfil all eligible applications for air cleaning units to state-funded education settings for poorly ventilated teaching spaces where quick fixes to improve ventilation are not possible. All eligible applications received have been fulfilled.
