5 May 2023	Figures published on 15 December 2022 included a small number of providers who should have been excluded from the statistics because they did not look after any children aged 0-4. As a result, estimates of the number of childcare providers, childcare places and childcare staff were all over-stated by approximately 1 to 2 per cent. "Proportion" and "average" statistics were mostly unaffected by this error. All figures have been corrected in this update.
