Footnotes
- Includes temporary staff but excludes volunteer staff and apprentices. Staff that do not work directly with children, such as administrative staff, are also excluded.
- The method used to weight group-based provider responses to the Survey changed in 2025. Figures for 2024 have been revised so that they can be compared with 2025 figures. The biggest impact of this change is on "volume" measures (such as the total and mean number of registered and booked group-based provider places and total and mean number of group-based provider staff). See the "Methodology change" section for further details.
- Mean figures for 2022 onwards are shown to 1 decimal place. Mean figures for 2018, 2019 and 2021 are only available rounded to the nearest whole member of staff.
