1. z = When an observation is not applicable
2. Pupils also registered at an institution normally included within the Secondary School Performance Tables (state funded mainstream schools) are excluded from the Alternative Provision data. This methodology was retained for attainment data in 2020 and 2021 even though the school performance tables were cancelled in those years.
3. Discounting has been applied where pupils have taken the same subject more than once. In 2021/22, with the return of the exam series, first entry rules were reintroduced for discounting.
