  1. Children achieving at least the expected level in the ELGs within the three prime areas of learning (personal, social and emotional development; physical development; communication and language) as well as within literacy and mathematics is classed as achieving a 'good level of development'.

  3. A minor ethnicity result will not be reported unless the relevant major ethnicity group is also selected.

  6. Achieved at least the expected level across all ELGs means a child achieved ‘expected’ or ‘exceeded’ in all 17 ELGs.
  7. Average total point score across all the early learning goals (ELGs). This is a supporting measure taking into account performance across all 17 ELGs, 1 point for emerging, 2 for expected and 3 for exceeding. The sum is then taken for all pupils with that characteristic and the mean given.
