Footnotes

  1. A ratio of less than 1:8 is more generous than the statutory minimum as there are fewer children per member of staff. The statutory ratio is 1:13 if the staff member is qualified to Level 6.
  2. The way voluntary, private and ‘other’ group-based providers are defined changed between 2021 and 2022. This means year-on-year comparisons for these categories of provider are not possible. Figures for the total ‘all group-based provider’ category are not affected and can be compared.
