This national level table contains the qualified teacher status and employment outcomes of postgraduate final year ITT trainees by subject. The data in this table covers qualified teacher status outcomes for 2009/10 to 2019/20. 2019/2020 employment rates are provisional, all other years are revised.

  2. Modern Foreign Languages includes Classics.
  3. 2013/14 excludes deferred employment based initial teacher training trainees.
  4. English includes Drama and Performing Arts until 2011/12 inclusive. From 2012/13 onwards Drama is included in Other.
  5. Other includes a range of subjects such as Media and Communication Studies, Social Studies, and Psychology. Includes Drama from 2012/13 onwards.
  6. Teaching in a state school: registered as employed in a state-funded school in England within 16 months of qualification. 2019/20 figures are provisional (uplifted), up to and including 2018/19 are revised. See methodology for further details.
