Footnotes
- Since 2019, a data cleaning exercise with local authorities has improved data quality. Provider types are now more accurately recorded and caution should be taken when comparing across time.
- Total EY staff includes both qualified and unqualified staff. Therefore percentages do not sum to 100% across available qualification levels.
- Percentages are as a proportion of all staff at that provider type, not a proportion of staff with a specific qualification. Therefore, all provider types will not sum to 100%.
- 2021 is the first year of data covering COVID-19, collected during January's national lockdown. Open providers, or providers closed due to government guidance, made census returns relating to registered children's "expected attendance" in census week. Further information is available in the methodology.
