Footnotes

  1. Includes places in mainstream schools reported by local authorities in September 2020 as planned to be added by 2021/22, including some planned places for 2022/23 and 2023/24. Academic year is based on places being added by the September of each respective year, based on target completion date provided by the local authorities. Includes only projects with ongoing building work.
  2. Data on permanent and temporary places was collected through the voluntary September sufficiency survey in 2020.
  3. Excludes additional places in projects funded through central DfE programmes, such as Free Schools, unless local authorities have contributed their own funding to deliver additional places to these projects.
  4. Excludes nursery places.
  5. Data may include places for Year 12 to Year 14.
