Footnotes
- 'Total CLA placed within this LA boundary' shows the number of own CLA placed internally within the LA boundary and the number of CLA who are the responsibility of other LAs placed within the LA boundary. 'CLA who are the responsibility of this LA placed outside the LA boundary' shows the number of CLA who are the responsibility of this LA placed outside the LA boundary. These figures are comparable to the 'Locality of placement' indicator in the 'CLA on 31 March – characteristics – by local authority' table.
- Net CLA movement figure is the difference between 'Total CLA placed within this LA boundary' and 'CLA who are the responsibility of this LA placed outside the LA boundary'. This measure is not comparable to the 'Net gain of children by responsible LA' figure in the published LA net gain table, because net gain is the difference between the number of children who are the responsibility of other LAs placed within this LA boundary and the number of children who are the responsibility of this LA placed outside the LA boundary.
- LA status shows whether the LA places more children under its responsibility outside the LA boundary (out-placer), or whether more children are placed within the boundary of the LA, regardless of the LA responsible (in-placer).
