2. Volumes are rounded to the nearest 10 and '~' indicates a base value of fewer than 5 but greater than 0
3. Age, gender, learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and ethnicity are based upon self-declaration by the learner
4. Ethnicity categories and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic groups) have been aligned with the ethnicities recorded in the 2011 UK Census
5. STEM subjects include those in the Construction, Planning and the Built Environment, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies, Information and Communication Technology, and Science and Mathematics sector subject areas
