Footnotes
- Numbers have been rounded to the nearest 10. Figures exclude children looked after under a series of short-term placements.
- Distance is the distance in miles between the child's home and placement. In some cases this is not known, for example UASC, or not recorded for confidentiality reasons, such as some children placed for adoption.
- Children could be counted more than once, e.g. a child with 5 placements will be counted 5 times, once in ‘First or only placement’, once in ‘Second placement’ and three times in ‘Third or subsequent placement’.
