Footnotes
- Includes temporary staff but excludes volunteer staff and apprentices. Staff that do not work directly with children, such as administrative staff, are also excluded.
- Mean hourly wages paid to childcare staff are higher than median hourly wages. This is because, unlike medians, means are skewed by senior managers and early years co-ordinators being paid a much higher hourly wage, on average, than other staff.
